Something had to die......

For the wages of SIN is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord Romans 6:23. For Sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. 1Corin 15:56. Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins Ephesians 2:1. Something had to die....What has died in your life because of Sin? In most of these scriptures, the Bible is speaking of a Spiritual Death, or if you look deeper, it could be the death of something in your life, Relationships, ministries; it could be anything at all. Also consider because of the Sin in our life, what have we missed out on because of sin and disobedience? I shudder to think where I would be right now had I not let my flesh have its way and I had listen and obey the word of God. Sin is all around us, but it doesn't mean we have to participate. Something Had To Die, I think of King David, Bathsheba and Uriah. While having a conversation with a Pastor friend of mine, he brought to light, that it was a great possibility that King David and Bathsheba would have eventually gotten together, because Uriah, her husband was always on the frontline in battle, he would have more than likely died sooner than later, but because of flesh and selfishness, King David could not wait for that, he had to move the situation along. Now King David was a man after Gods own heart, and he consulted God for everything, but we can be safe to say that he did not go to God in prayer regarding this situation. In 2Samuel 11 this situation is discussed and in verse 27 it states, "But the Lord was displeased with what David had done" Something Had To Die.....because of the horrible way David obtained Bathsheba, there were consequences for this act and their first born child had to die. In Psalms 51 David prays a prayer of repentance that is like none other, God did forgive him and spared his life, yet because of this Sin he committed, Something Had To Die. I would rather obey the word of God, than sin against Him and suffer with the consequences of a spiritual death, or the death of a dream, relationship, and ministry. Living a Holy life is not hard, when you are committed to it. In Nehemiah 9:29 part of the scripture says "people will find life if only they obey, speaking of the commands and regulations of God.

Again I will ask, what has died in your life because of Sin? Was that Sin worth it? Are you better or worse because of it? Think about it, why lose, when you could win...Because of Sin Something Will Have to Die.
